Trash Fire Poetry - Writing from the ashes - part of Hold Space Poetry Festival
Trash Fire Poetry - Writing from the ashes with Hold Space Poetry Festival Resident Maddy Kilsbury- McMurray
The workshop will be a writing circle, pulling inspiration from each other's poems. It will start with an initial prompt and up to 5 mins writing time. Each writer will then be invited to share, if they wish. Once they've shared, the poems will be ripped up and put into a bowl. Each writer will pull out a new piece, and use that as inspiration for the next poem. Rinse and repeat, write for 5 mins, share, tear up then pull inspiration from the shreds.
The idea is to challenge what can be an inspiration, where you can pull prompts from and not getting too attached to the things you write. It will invite people to let their poems go and not be too precious with them.
Join Maddy as part of the Hold Space Poetry Festival which runs from the 1st-7th April 2026 at The Crypt Gallery Euston.
