Join La Monocle and King Cupid Events for a specially curated evening of Lesbian & FLINTA* speed dating at the beautiful Bermonds Locke, exclusively for those aged 30+.
Doors open at 7:00pm for registration. We encourage guests to arrive promptly so you can settle in, collect your name badge, and grab a drink before being seated. The bar will be open from 5pm, giving you time to get comfortable before dating begins.
Speed dating will begin at 7:30pm.
Multiple rounds of speed dating will be hosted and expertly guided by King Cupid Events to create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where meaningful conversations can unfold naturally. First-time speed daters are warmly encouraged to attend.
Participants will meet multiple people throughout the evening, with name badges provided to help conversations flow easily. Matches are shared via an anonymous matching system and emailed after the event once all match forms have been completed.
Throughout the evening, drinks and food will be available from Bermonds Locke’s full restaurant menu and fully operating bar.
La Monocle has exclusively booked the back section of the venue for the event. Some hotel guests may still use the main bar area, but the dedicated event space will be clearly staffed and managed by our team.
After the speed dating concludes, the bar will remain open, so guests are welcome to stay, socialise, and continue conversations into the evening.
This event is explicitly trans-inclusive. We welcome lesbian, bi, pan, questioning, non-binary, trans, and agender people — anyone who dates within FLINTA communities.
If you have accessibility needs, please let us know at least 12 hours in advance so we can support you. Seating arrangements can be adapted for different mobility needs.
The event is lively and conversational, so please expect a chatty atmosphere with some background noise.

About FLINTA*
FLINTA* is a German-originated acronym standing for Frauen (women), Lesben (lesbians), Intergeschlechtliche (intersex), Nicht-binäre (non-binary), Trans, and Agender people, with the asterisk representing additional non-binary gender identities. It is used as an umbrella term to include anyone who is not a cisgender man and who may experience patriarchal discrimination.
REFUND POLICY & EVENT INFORMATION
La Monocle is a volunteer-run fundraising event. Ticket sales go directly toward covering venue hire, performers, and production costs.
Because of this, tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled or rescheduled.
Please note:
• Bar service and staffing are operated by the venue, not the La Monocle team, so we are unable to control bar wait times or service speed.
• Venue capacity and facilities (including toilets) are set and managed by the venue. We adhere strictly to the capacity limits provided to us.
• La Monocle is an open and inclusive community event. The crowd and atmosphere may vary from night to night and we welcome attendees of all backgrounds and ages.
• Music programming, volume levels, and performances are curated for the space and may differ from traditional club nights.
By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge that the event is independently organised and volunteer-run.
If you have any questions regarding the event, please contact: contact@lamonocle.co.uk
A quick note for anyone attending La Monocle events:
La Monocle is a volunteer-run fundraiser and community night. Our team organises the programming, artists, and space, but some parts of the venue experience are operated independently.
• The bar and staff are run by the venue
• Capacity and facilities are set by the venue
• We always operate within the limits given to us
As our events have grown recently, we’re working closely with venues to improve things like bar service and flow for future nights.
Our aim is to create an open, welcoming space for a wide mix of people and communities, and the crowd can vary from event to event.
We really appreciate everyone who comes to support and helps make these nights happen. If you ever have feedback, please email contact@lamonocle.co.uk so we can properly review it with the team.
