In a world that asks us to keep pushing and performing, rest can start to feel like something that has to be earned.
This is a space where you don’t have to.
Permission to Rest is a gentle, breath led session designed as a soft landing.
Together, we’ll explore simple breathing techniques to help the body settle, soften, and release tension, before moving into guided rest.
There’s nothing to get right.
No expectation to perform or share.
You’re welcome to arrive exactly as you are.
If you’ve ever felt out of place in traditional wellness spaces, or unsure where to start, you’re especially welcome here.
🌈 About the space
This session takes place in a queer venue and is prioritised for LGBTQIA+ people.
Allies are welcome to attend with care and respect for the space.
The session is guided by a queer facilitator, with a gentle, trauma aware approach.
Spaces are kept intentionally small to support a calm and comfortable environment.
⏳ Timing & arrival
- Doors open: 7:15pm
- Arrival window: 7:15–7:25pm
- Session: 7:30–8:30pm
- Optional time to stay and chat: until around 9:00pm
You’re welcome to arrive anytime between 7:15 and 7:25 to settle in and get comfortable.
You’re welcome to arrive, take space, and settle in your own way.
We’ll begin at 7:30pm.
To keep the space calm and undisturbed, doors will close shortly after we begin.
🤍 After the session
You’re welcome to head off straight after, or stay for a while to chat and connect.
A few people usually stay, and it’s a low pressure way to meet others.
Many people come on their own, and some return regularly - you’re welcome either way.

There are a few pricing options to help keep the space accessible:
- £8 — Community ticket
- £12 — Standard ticket
- £16 — Supporter ticket
If you’re able to choose a higher tier, it helps support the continuation of these sessions.
🧺 What to bring
- Wear warm, comfortable layers
- Bring a mat if you have one
- You may also want a blanket or cushion
The session can be done seated or lying down.
A limited number of mats and blankets will be available.
