Emotional Content returns to Margate Arts Club for its second chapter — and we've gone a long way to bring it in.
Flying in from Chicago for an exclusive UK appearance, we're honoured to welcome Darryn Jones — a true son of the Chicago scene. Raised on the Hot Mix 5 broadcasts of the mid-'80s, schooled in the same rooms as Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy, Darryn is the name behind Chicago's fabled Durty Truth parties, the globally revered Willing & Able edit, and 2024's Love Letter LP. He doesn't travel often. He's bringing a crate of rare disco, dusty funk, deep house and modern soul edits that nobody else in the world is playing — and he's playing them here.
Expect the same commitments that shaped Pt.1: careful curation over trend, long-form flow over the quick hit, atmosphere over ego. Presented once again on Margate Arts Club's pure analogue, hand-tuned sound system, centred around an ISONOE mixer — a system already praised by Colleen Murphy, Gilles Peterson, DJ Nori and Luke Una.
Emotional Content is open, inclusive and respectful. A room for listening, for movement, for shared experience.
May 30th 2026. One guest. One room.
