Giddy up girls, gays, theys and allies, STRUT and QUEER LINE DANCE CLUB are joining forces to teach you how to hoedown!
Have you been to our events and wished you could join in on the open floor more? Maybe you’ve been wanting to give line dancing a go in more of a class setting? If so, BABY STEPS is for you!
Line dancing in the queer community is having a real renaissance, with people craving communal spaces where they can be in their bodies and move in unison. Line dancing offers beginner-friendly dance choreography and an opportunity to reclaim country culture and music whilst incorporating pop, hip-hop, R'n'B and more.
Come dance with us!
★ 12 classes, 24 dances
★ Less people, more time
★ Learn our core repertoire
★ Range: beginner to improver — harder dances towards the end of the course

The classes will take place in the Studio space apart from July 15th which will be in the Goss Room.
POLICY
STRUT, QUEER LINE DANCE CLUB and BISHOPSGATE INSTITUTE are spaces which prioritise the safety, comfort, community and joy of LGBTQIA+ people. There is a zero tolerance policy for any forms of homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, bigotry, harassment and violence.
ACCESSIBILITY
THE SPACE:
There is access by lift or stairs to the Studio on the Lower Basement level.
The Studio is 8 steps down from the Upper Basement Level to the Lower Basement Level. There is a platform style passenger lift to this level, which requires an additional person to operate it.
A limited number of parking spaces are available for Blue Badge holders outside Bishopsgate Institute on Brushfield Street.
We have wheelchair accessible toilets near the Front Entrance on the Ground Floor, First Floor and Basement Level. Some assistance may be required accessing the Basement Level toilet as there is a code on the door and the door is heavy to open. Please let us know if you require assistance.
LINE DANCING:
Line dancing involves stepping in different directions, stamping, kicking, winding steps like the grapevine, twisting, turns & spins.
If you are hard of hearing/deaf we recommend you come to the front so you can clearly see the instructor’s feet.
We have fixed induction loops which work with amplified sound in the Studio. To access the loops, please adjust your hearing aid to the T setting.
We offer free tickets for carers/access companions, please DM via Instagram @strut.ldn @queerlinedanceclub to arrange.
