Our next hike is a riverside ramble around Knaresborough. Woodland trails, viaduct views and river scenery lovely enough to make you consider quitting your job and become a full-time rambling dyke 🏳️🌈
This is a 12 km circular route with around 140m of elevation, taking roughly 3 to 4 hours. It’s mostly flat and very manageable, but there are still muddy sections, uneven paths. So come well prepared with solid footwear.
We’ll be following the River Nidd through woodland and countryside before looping back into Knaresborough for our inevitable post-hike pub stop.

About the hike
The paths along the river can get muddy and slippery, so sturdy hiking boots are essential. Bring plenty of water, layers, and waterproofs. This Yorkshire spring weather remains committed to spontaneity!
We’ll stop for lunch somewhere scenic along the route, so bring food and snacks for the day.
As always, newcomers and solo hikers are very welcome! These walks are relaxed, friendly, and a great way to meet people.
🎟️ Grab your free ticket at 10am on Saturday 9 May.
We can’t wait to see you out on the trails 🌿
