Diagnosed with Usher’s Syndrome at the age of thirteen, Patricia lives with a condition that ultimately leads to partial or total blindness and deafness. Yet the inevitability of her medical condition doesn’t chip away at her fierceness and sense of humour. This is a compelling story that breaks down clichés, as it weaves together issues about disability, queerness and abusive relationships with complexity and intimacy. Filmed over the course of eight years, this documentary is made of home footage filmed by Patricia herself and her partner turned housemate Karen. It is an authentic and fascinating portrait of a proud lesbian whose drive is an inspiration.
