A dance class that celebrates movement and queer bodies, aiming to build confidence in a carefree, fun, and inclusive environment. Unleash your inner baddie, pop star or performer as we explore the beauty of queer bodies through movement and dance.
Step into a joyful, carefree, and fiercely inclusive 🏳️🌈 Pride Movement Session at the stunning West End Arts Library (formerly Westminster Reference Library). For this special event, QueerLife Social is joining forces with this distinctive central London venue for a month-long celebration of creativity, community, and body positivity.
But this isn’t just a dance class, it’s an opportunity to celebrate diversity, build confidence, and explore the beauty of queer bodies through movement. Whether you want to unleash your inner baddie, tap into your inner pop star, or just find a collective release surrounded by art and history, this space is for you. Experienced performers and absolute beginners are equally welcome.
What to Expect: We keep it light, fun, and completely judgment-free.
- The Warm-Up: We’ll start with some light stretching and silly, lighthearted warm-up games to get everyone loose and laughing.
- The Routine: Javani will guide us through a short, playful routine to a section of a track.
- The Finale: A chance to let go, hype each other up, and perform it for yourselves and one another. (And if in doubt? Twerk it out!)
About Your Facilitator:
The session is led by Javani (they/he/she), a whirlwind of energy and creative thinking who believes in authenticity, culture, and storytelling through art. Javani’s endless bag of tricks comes from a massive range of on-stage and on-camera experience; from gogo dancing at legendary London venues and clubs like Mighty Hoopla, The Clapham Grand, Beefmince, and Electrowerks, to hosting major productions and featuring in campaigns for Pride. Javani is there to support, hype, and make sure everyone feels safe to showcase their truest selves.
About QueerLife Social:
We are a queer collective dedicated to creating safe, joy-filled spaces through life drawing and movement classes that celebrate queer life and individuals. We strive to promote social inclusion and body positivity. Everyone is welcome, exactly as you are.
Come for the art, stay for the community. We can’t wait to move with you!
