We're delighted to bring you this very special evening of live music with fabulous 18x piece jazz orchestra, the London Gay Big Band, who will be joined by two of the most accomplished and exciting vocal artists in the UK today - Ian Shaw & Polly Gibbons.
Multi-award winner as best jazz vocalist - BBC Jazz Awards 2007 and 2004 and Parliamentary Jazz Awards 2018, alongside nominations from the Jazz FM Awards 2013 and Downbeat Magazine 2017 - Ian Shaw has amassed a number of highly acclaimed internationally released albums and is a popular performer both in the UK and the US. He has been cited, along with Mark Murphy and Kurt Elling, as one of the world’s finest male jazz vocalists.
Polly Gibbons is a growing presence in the UK Jazz scene. She has already been nominated twice as "Best Jazz Vocalist" by JAZZ FM and the BBC. Fully embracing the inspiring expansiveness of American Jazz, Blues, Soul and R&B, her career as a vocalist, composer and live performer is influenced by these genres. But Polly is hesitant to define her music as strictly Jazz; her eclectic repertoire and the ease and style with which she performs it, have led her to appear at a variety of music festivals and venues: from the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London opening for George Benson and Gladys Knight, or for Bozz Scaggs at the famous Montreal Jazz Festival.
You can expect a wonderfully fun and festive show in the spectacular surroundings of the Grand Hall at St. Bart's, featuring all your classic Christmas favourites, alongside jazz and swing powerhouse numbers in the LGBB's inimitable style - this show is guaranteed to get you swingin' in the Christmas spirit!
