After raising over £1,700 for grassroots aid in Gaza at our last showcase, Pole 4 Palestine, we’re back again with Showcase 4 Sudan, an evening of pole, drag, performance and solidarity raising urgent funds for mutual aid efforts in Sudan 🇸🇩
Showcase 4 Sudan is organised by the London Solidarity Project, a radical collective of Londoners working towards a world free from colonialism, occupation and genocide. Through fundraising events, political education and collective action, we aim to build community while materially supporting liberation movements around the world.
This showcase brings together performers for a night of movement, creativity and resistance in support of Mutual Aid Sudan Coalition.
Mutual Aid Sudan Coalition is a partnership between Sudanese mutual aid groups, notably the Emergency Response Rooms (ERRs), and international supporters committed to providing direct, flexible funding to local groups responding to Sudan’s humanitarian crisis.
The ERRs are community-based networks of Sudanese volunteers organising frontline humanitarian support throughout the ongoing conflict. While traditional international aid systems provide essential assistance, grassroots responders are often left underfunded despite being closest to the communities most impacted. Mutual Aid Sudan Coalition works to support these groups on their own terms, enabling faster, community-led responses that prioritise urgent local needs.
100% of proceeds from the evening will be donated directly to the cause.
The event takes place at Love Affair Basement, 324 Hackney Road, London E2 7AX, a queer, community-led space rooted in collective liberation and radical care. LAB regularly hosts poetry nights, cabarets and grassroots fundraisers, and very kindly allows us to use the space for free in support of this work <3
