Writing can often feel like a solitary practice, but literary communities are built through conversation, collaboration and shared attention. This facilitated workshop offers queer writers the opportunity to bring works-in-progress into a supportive space for collective feedback, discussion and development.
Led by acclaimed poet, playwright and novelist Joelle Taylor, this session invites writers working across poetry, fiction, memoir, performance text and hybrid forms to share their work and engage in thoughtful, constructive critique with fellow participants.
Drawing on her extensive experience as a facilitator, mentor and award-winning author, Joelle will facilitate discussions around craft, voice, structure and audience, helping participants to deepen their engagement with their own writing while learning from the perspectives of others.
Whether you're developing a new project, refining a draft or seeking fresh insight into your work, this workshop offers an opportunity to connect with other queer writers in an atmosphere of generosity, rigour and creative exchange.
Participants will be asked to bring a short piece of writing to share on the day. Places are limited to ensure everyone has the opportunity to receive meaningful feedback.
This workshop is open to LGBTQIA+ writers looking to develop existing work.
