A stunning restoration of one of the best looking titles from the golden age of adult films, Le Beau Mec (1979) opens the night, employing elements of myth, documentary, and fantasy to recount the sexual exploits of hustler and adult entertainer Karl Forest.
With visuals by the cinematographer behind Terrence Malick's Days of Heaven (1978), and a synth score popularised by Ethel Cain's personal bootlegs, Le Beau Mec is a landmark achievement in explicit cinema.
Then after a short break we'll continue with Sick: The Life and Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist (1997), a portrait of a man who lived in defiance of his cystic fibrosis, and well past the end of his life expectancy through the joys of submission, art, and love.
