LGBTQ+ Women's Glasgow Xmas Speed Dating by Oban Lesbian+ Weekend Events
BORED OF SCROLLING THE DATING SITES OR 20 WOMEN ASKING ABOUT WORK? COME & MEET WOMEN F2F!!!
The Alchemist, George Square, Glasgow or DOUBLE YOUR CHANCES & get a discounted ticket to Glasgow and our Edinburgh 31st January event. Every speed dating is different - it just depends who rocks up but you have to be in it to win it!!!
How the Evening Works
Join our friendly hosts from 4:00pm, with speed dating starting at 4:30pm sharp.
Once the ice is broken, you’re warmly invited to continue the fun at our after-party at Katie’s Bar, where conversations can flow more freely and connections can deepen.
Unlike “traditional” speed dating, our events guide you through relaxed topic areas. We know it can sometimes feel awkward figuring out what to say — and most of us don’t want to spend the night talking about work.
Instead, you might chat about:
✨ Your favourite holiday destination
✨ Your first pet
✨ Whether you’re polyamorous, monogamous, or still figuring it out
✨ The little things that make you you
We take the pressure off — so you can relax, be yourself, and actually enjoy getting to know people

Speed Dating… or Speed Mating?
Over the years, we’ve learned that not everyone comes to speed dating for romance — and that’s absolutely fine.
Some LGBTQ+ women meet great new friends (speed mates!), while others meet a date, partner, or even a future wife.
That’s why at our events you can:
✔️ Tick for mates
✔️ Tick for dates
✔️ Or both
Rather than spending weeks chatting online before meeting face-to-face, speed dating gives you 3–4 minute, relaxed ice-breaker chats with lots of women in one night.
We provide topic prompts — you just turn up, relax, and enjoy yourself.
All Ages Welcome 🌈
Women of all ages attend our events, and many are open to friendships, dates or connections across different age groups.
All our events are:
✔️ Trans and non-binary inclusive
✔️ Neurodiverse-friendly
✔️ Warm, welcoming and pressure-free
Polyamorous or Monogamous?
Whether you’re polyamorous, ethically non-monogamous, or monogamous — you are welcome here.
We simply ask for honesty:
- If you’re poly or ENM, please let your dates know
- If you’re looking for mates, dates, or “Mrs Right”, be open about where you’re at
Everyone is at a different stage, and clear communication helps everyone have a positive experience — especially if you choose to meet again.
Why Oban Lesbian+ Weekend Events?
Unlike online dating or many speed dating companies, everything happens on the night — and we always include an after-party.
That means:
✨ No disappearing matches
✨ No forgetting names
✨ More time to reconnect with people you clicked with
We’ve been running speed dating events for 20 years, starting in Brighton, and for 5 years have welcomed women from across the world to Oban Lesbian+ Weekend.
As an LGBTQ+-owned business, we’ve seen countless:
💞 Marriages
💞 Relationships
💞 Flings
💞 Long-term friendships
…all begin because someone decided to show up.
We love hearing your success stories — and we’d love you to be part of the next one.
