Queer Nature Club: Trip to Berry Head
with artist Ione Maria Rochas & artist and founder of Queer Nature Club, Daniel Baker-Wells
Brixham, Devon
Sunday 20th September 2026
11.00am - 2.30pm
Berry Head is a beautiful, historic site and nature reserve. It is a Special Area of Conservation and a Site of Special Scientific Interest within the South Devon National Landscape.
Delightful cirl buntings are resident year-round, whilst peregrine falcons, sparrowhawks and kestrels can be found circling the headland and out to sea, fulmars, kittiwakes and gannets can be seen foraging for fish.
Berry Head is home to some fascinating insects and rare cliff-top grasslands. We'll be exploring the lives of the local beetles, moths and solitary bees, with a creative workshop led by Ione Maria-Rojas.
If we're lucky we'll also see schools of dolphins feeding below the cliffs.

Queer Nature Club South West is an LGBTQIA+ collective in South West England exploring nature together.
All activities are queer affirming and queer-led, the programme is designed to be open and accessible. If you have any questions or suggestions about access, we'd love to hear from you: socialmaterialcic@gmail.com
The majority of our events are fully-wheelchair accessible, but in 2026 we are also programming some longer hikes.
In 2024-5 we made a zine together.
In Summer 2026 we’ll be making a banner together- for pride parades later in the year and 2027.
