Queer Theatre is turning two years old, and we’re celebrating on Friday 11 September, at Luvvie: our big industry party for LGBTQIA+ people in the arts. And yes, allies are very welcome!
Created especially for queer people and allies working and studying in the arts; across theatre, film, television, cabaret, live performance and the creative industries, Luvvie is a place to connect with other creatives, build friendships, make professional connections, enjoy sensational cabaret and dance until late. Not to mention a fabulous evening of star cabaret, and a chance to win some wonderful prizes in our industry auction and raffle.
Performers
Our line-up brings together Olivier Award winner and West End leading lady Cassidy Janson (& Juliet, Beautiful, Avenue Q); actor, singer and Save Our Voices Now campaigner Peter Caulfield (Jesus Christ Superstar, Our House, Doctor Who and Russell T Davies’s Cucumber/Banana/Tip Toe), legendary New York cabaret wit, award-winning playwright and 2 Broke Girls writer Justin Elizabeth Sayre, fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe, and Talia Heiss, one of the newest members of our Queer Theatre acting company, whose musical theatre credits include Avenue Q, Cabaret and Dracula, all hosted by international drag artiste and Drag Idol 2023 national semi-finalist and Queer Theatre member, Aura Gasm.

We’ll also be hosting an industry auction and raffle, with incredible prizes donated by Sir Stephen Fry, Cheryl Fergison and many other special friends of Queer Theatre.

Who’ll be there?
An impressive guest list of queer artists and industry names is already taking shape, from playwrights to actors, celebrities to activists, directors to actors, cabaret artists to influencers, If you’re queer and a creative. You need to be here. You’ll meet our artists who have been part of Queer Theatre from the beginning, emerging queer talent, established professionals and creatives from across the performing arts.
But most of all, we want to meet you: to hear what you’re working on, discover what you’d like to create next and share in your passion for queer art and the people who make it.
Why Luvvie?
The word luvvie is theatre slang for an actor or theatre person: passionate, theatrical, expressive, devoted to the craft, and usually never far from a story, a song or a strong opinion. For Queer Theatre, the word has an extra-special meaning. Luvvie was coined for us by our patron Sir Stephen Fry, who described it as someone who loves the theatre so much it becomes their natural habitat.
That is exactly what this night is about. A big night out for queer people in the performing arts: a space to meet, flirt, dance, celebrate, reconnect, make new collaborators, build professional relationships and feel part of something free, than the grind of our industry.

Tickets should be booked in advance.
All profits go towards Queer Theatre’s work nurturing LGBTQIA+ talent, creating opportunities for queer performers and theatre-makers, and telling LGBTQIA+ stories in London.

Please email info@queertheatre.co.uk with your full name and the production you’re in so we can organise a late night guest list for you. However, we can only do this for a limited number of people and it will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
