Excited to announce the Elektra look-alike competition- Black Trans edition. Organized by Owiẹ (@owie_0_owie).
Owiẹ strongly believes that access to community should not come at a cost. This event is a fundraiser, and all proceeds will go towards supporting Ghanaian trans women living in Ghana who lost everything in a flood and paying for Dua's top surgery.
I’m sure we all know Elektra was a fucking powerhouse, mother and just cunt af!!! And we will be honoring her. This event is happening because we deserve our moment. There will be music, games, socializing, food and fun!!
From 1pm, we will hold a remembrance circle at an altar for our Black Trans siblings who have been taken from us. We will remember them as they should be, and hold space for our hopes and dreams for Black Trans future. Please feel free to bring pictures, anything from your culture or any materials you want at the altar.
