Together, we will explore stories, ideas, and memories that go unnoticed or unspoken in our daily lives. Through collage and zine-making, you'll experiment with different ways of expressing these experiences in a personal and creative way.
This workshop invites you to reflect on how making and documenting can help us process, preserve, and articulate our experiences on our own terms. By the end of the session, you'll create a unique zine that serves as a personal archive of something you've wanted to express - perhaps something you've found difficult to put into words!
No preparation or experience is required. All materials will be provided.
What to expect
In this session we will introduce zineing and different zine-making techniques. We will invite you to participate in reflective activities through zine making. We will then invite the group to share their experiences as we become listening ears for one another. You can share whatever you'd like about your zine. You might talk about what inspired it, something you discovered while making it, or even show a page without explaining it.
This workshop will introduce simple zine-making techniques and provide a range of materials and creative prompts to help you explore ideas through collage, drawing, and writing. Together, we'll experiment with how creative making can give shape to our experiences. The workshop is a space to slow down, reflect, create, and hopefully leave inspired to keep making zines!
By the end of the workshop, you'll have your own handmade zine to take home.
