Queer Investigations: Inventing queerness, a collage workshop celebrating queer culture
Join us for an easy-going craft afternoon exploring culture through literature and arts and putting those craft muscles to work through collage making. In this workshop, we’ll explore queerness through art, music, books, and culture, and build our own pictures of queer joy using collage to make mini posters.
Expect to learn about queer history and meet new friends, but mostly cutting things into weird shapes and getting them to fit together in different ways on paper. During this workshop, we will learn about queer culture and explore collage as an accessible art form that has everything to do with sustainability and transforming things that we no longer use. All material will be provided, and you don’t need any previous experience with collaging to join us.
All proceeds of this workshop will go to QueerSwap to help support the costs of the studio and putting on events.
About the hosts:
Celina Belotti:
Celina is a London-based author originally from Brazil, she moved to the UK nearly ten years ago. Her debut young adult novel, Wild and Beyond, was published in November. She works in tech and lives in East London with her cat.
Sanne Sanne
Sanne is a proud Wisconsinite who’s been living in London for the past five years. They work helping people in need of immigration advice at a Homelessness charity and co-parent to the same above-mentioned cat. Sanne is very good at crafts, zine-making and plants, better than they are at making puns.
