B.O.S.S.
Black Obsidian Sound System (B.O.S.S.) was established in the summer of 2018 with the intention of bringing together a community of queer, trans and non-binary Black people and People of colour involved in art, sound and radical activism. Following in the legacies of sound system culture they wanted to learn, build and sustain a resource for our collective struggles. The black-led system, based in London, is available to use or rent by community groups and others with the purpose of amplifying and connecting them. B.O.S.S' work also includes technical workshops, live performance events, club nights, art installations and various creative commissions
OROKO RADIO
Oroko is a not-for-profit independent internet radio station based in Accra, Ghana. We aim to connect, inspire and empower through conversation, collaboration and community.
Recentering narratives
We seek to reclaim and recenter narratives from the African and Diasporic artistic communities with a particular focus on local perspectives in Accra, in addition to cultivating and nurturing relationships with like-minded projects across the globe. Oroko Radio shines a spotlight on alternative sounds and thoughts coming from and influenced by the African continent.
HARDFOOD COLLECTIVE
At its root, HardFood seeks to nourish the diaspora — sonically and through education — forming bonds, building community, and feeding a spirit that transcends continents. As a collective of West Indian heritage, HardFood’s focus is on sounds and sights rooted in
reggae and dancehall culture, seasoned with the energy of the continent and the pulse of genres where Black innovators have shaped the sound but been sidelined — House, EDM, Jungle, and Garage.
