BLOUSE AND SKIRT! Blackney Wick Film Club is back for the third edition of our residency at @alghasplantroom.
Firstly, I want to give a big thanks to all those who attended our last edition, the conversations we shared after the film were super inspiring. It felt super healing and I can't wait to see you all again 💛💚🖤
After the madness of carnival, we want to use this edition to reflect on the Caribbean culture and how the diasporas have helped build culture in the UK! So get ready for sound systems, bashment and dancehall!
This is going to be a double screening. a documentary and film. All will be revealed on the night.
Are you a filmmaker or an artist? Know one? Have any shorts that match the theme?
Send it through ~ we’d love to show it before the main screenings!
‼️Trigger Warnings‼️
This film contains themes of abuse, and violence.
Blackney Wick Film Club was born out of the need for more sober spaces for our community to connect outside of the club. This is a POC oriented space, so allies, although you’re still welcome, please be mindful when in the space.✊🏾
🎟 Tickets are on a sliding scale £5 / £10 / £15 ~ please take a concession ticket only if you need it, and please take a pay it forward ticket if you are in a place of abundance. Ticket link is in the bio. We appreciate all support as a grassroots queer venue 💚
If you can’t afford a ticket, drop us a message and we’d be happy to accommodate - @alghasplantroom on IG or email aliyah@plantroom.space
