MIND UR HEAD // friday 24th january // 8pm // the chateau
MIND UR HEAD is a platform for dance artists who identify all around and outside of the gender binary to bring their own work, on their own terms, interrupting and disrupting the space, revelling in the restrictions and possibilities within The Chateau. We aim to take give the audience the opportunity to engage with each artist in this intimate setting, directing their own experiences of performance and maybe interacting with dance in a totally new way...
basically have a drink, have a dance and take in a night of new queer dance.

FULL ACCESSIBILITY INFO:
Unfortunately The Chateau is a basement venue with a staircase, therefore not wheelchair accessible.
The main space is entered from the street, with one step up from the pavement to the small lobby. To get to the bar there is a single staircase with 10 steps that has bannisters on either side. After 6 steps there is a a level platform, and door, leading to the venue, then, four more steps to get you into The Chateau. There are no steps or stairs once you are in the basement.
The smoking area is outside the main entrance, back on street level, managed by SIA security staff.
There are two toilet bays in the basement space, each are gender neutral and have no steps to them. The first toilets contains 2 stalls and 2 sinks, the second, has 2 urinals, 2 sinks and a stall.
There are banquettes, tables and stools around the space if you need to sit down we have varied options.
The overall bar has low lighting, we do not use strobe lights or a haze machine, the toilets are well lit. There is a quieter area in the back with no bar for people to sit and chat. The floors are wooden and we have a tiled dance floor.
The staff and management are all friendly queers, if you have any further questions on accessibility then please contact us on tam@thechateau.org.uk and we will do our best to help in advance and on the night.
