Slam Rules:
One Night Slam is a Two Round poetry slam, every competing poet performs twice.
Slammers will have a 3 minute time limit with a 10 second grace period, after that they'll start to be deducted points.
Must be your own work.

Maxine Meixner :
Maxine Meixner is a spoken word poet and writer based in London, UK.
Her performances have amassed more than 55 million views across all platforms and been shared by the likes of Viola Davis, Patsy Palmer, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and US Senator Cory Booker.
She has featured at events across the UK, including Spit Nights, Piece of Work Poetry, Edinburgh Fringe, Brighton Fringe, Poet’s Palace, Reigning Women, Bradford Literary Festival, and Lost Village Festival. Maxine has also performed internationally in Canada and Estonia.
Her work is known for its heart, relatability, and warmth.
John Nordon:
John Nordon is an educator and poet based in East London and also a founding member of ‘Testing Ground’ a poetry open mic based out of the wonderful Bard Books on Roman Road. His writing focuses on the relationships formed across many walks of life through lenses of absurdity, warmth and occasionally optimism.

There is a single flight of stairs going down to the main bar area to enter the venue, and then a further flight of stairs down to the performance space. The stage has a single step up onto it. - Toilets

If you require a front-row seat to be able to lipread, please let us know in advance or on arrival.
Unfortunately we are unable to provide a BSL interpreter at our events. - Sensory and Quiet Space
Stimming is welcome in the space, as is wearing headphones or earplugs, or playing with fidget toys. We recognise and respect that “active listening” looks different on everyone.
Unfortunately this venue does not have a quiet space, but there is an outdoor seating area.
