HOME….
Roots & Move (London) is landing in Brighton
A 5Rhythms Somatic Movement practice for GBTQ+ men
Sunday 18 October 2026 - 6:30pm
What we do…
Many dancers report a feeling of ‘coming home’ when they first step on to a 5Rhythms dance floor.
A connection with belonging, aliveness and something forgotten, now remembered in the body - beyond words - Tribal…
We always begin with ground - the roots of our experience….
Solid, secure embodiment of our authentic self in movement….
We grow, move the energy to open the body into a flow of the dance, into exploring the circus of our experience in the ‘here and now’ of the present moment - awake/aware - connecting with self and others in the space…. Rejoicing in the circle of community - coming together with ground, body and breath. The heart of movement is the circle and each dancer plays their part - all parts are welcome.
No prior experience needed. Just an open mind, a open heart of curiosity and a willingness to move (at your own pace) and be moved by others…

Bodie
After three years now living in Brighton - I have just started to call it home…
Home of a physical nature - safe, comfort and secure
Home of an emotional nature - belonging, rooted and again safe
Home of a energetic nature - opening to the heart, space to breathe and returning to self…
Bodie trained directly with Gabrielle Roth in 5Rhythms movement practice back in 2005. He later went on to add Open Floor ‘Therapy in Motion’ and freedomDANCE training to his experience. He is a psychotherapist and has been running groups, teaching mindfulness with conscious movement practices for over 20 years with workshops across the U.K., Europe, and Asia. He currently lives between Brighton and London and is exploring 'Breathwork with movement' as a deep healing resource.
"Energy moves in waves. Waves move in patterns. Patterns move in rhythms. A human being is just that, energy, waves, patterns, rhythms. Nothing more. Nothing less. A dance." Gabrielle Roth (5Rhythms)
