Saturday Morning Writers' Group
A friendly, supportive space to get some writing done, share your work and spend a morning with other creative people.
We’ll start each session with a relaxed group check in, taking a moment to set our intentions and goals for the morning. Then it’s time to settle in, get your head down and write. After our dedicated writing time, we’ll come back together to chat about what we’re working on. There’ll be space to read extracts, talk through ideas, share work in progress and get thoughtful, constructive feedback from the group.
Sharing is always encouraged, but never compulsory. The aim is to create a welcoming space where you can try things out, ask questions, follow new ideas and develop your work without any pressure to have everything figured out.
The group is open to writers at every stage. You don’t need a finished manuscript, a writing qualification or a certain level of experience. Just bring your project, your curiosity and a willingness to spend some time writing alongside other people.
Bring your project, your questions and your pages. We’ll bring the company, the biscuits and hopefully a bit of motivation to keep those words flowing.

Soho Theatre Walthamstow, downstairs bar
The downstairs bar is through the doors at the back of the theatre foyer. If you’re not sure where to go, ask someone at the front desk and they’ll point you in the right direction.

Fran Bushe is an award-winning writer, comedian and performer. Her first book was published by Hodder and Stoughton in 2021 and she has written for Channel 4 Comedy, Comedy Central and is under commission for a television project. Her play ‘A Gig for Ghosts’ won the Soho Theatre Tony Craze Prize and was listed in the best theatre of 2022 by The Guardian. She is a 2026 Criptic Launchpad Artist.
