This is a writing workshop for folks who identify as queer and/ or LGBTQIA+ followed by a cosy open mic ~ held in the upstairs studio space at The Union Theatre, SE1
Allies are whole heartedly welcome and encouraged to come along and support the artists on the mic, grab a drink at the bar, soak up the atmosphere, and connect with this beautiful community.

6.30-8.15pm: Queer Writes Workshop, this will be a gentle supportive workshop for those seeking a space in which to write, be inspired, and connect with like-minded folk. Guided by prompts, live music and facilitated by multi disciplinary artist Amy Allen, this workshop is for folks who identify as queer/ LGBTQIA+ regardless of where you are at on your writing journey.
**Please bring blankets/ cushions/ snacks or anything that helps you feel cosy 😊
8.30-10.15pm: Cosy Mic; our October Open Mic, this will be an open mic focusing on the cosiness this time of the year invites us to surrender to. Each person sharing on the mic will get 4mins, accompanied by Live Music if they wish. I'd actively encourage open micers to use this as a time to try speaking or singing something new, recently written, or unfinished.
There will be some seating but please bring blankets, cushions and anything soft to sit on so we can create an intimate autumnal atmosphere in this gorgeous space under the arches.
10.15-11pm: Relax, connect, have drinks and chats in the bar, courtyard or studio space 💫
*If you book for the Workshop, you will gain a guaranteed Open Mic spot, with zero pressure to use it. If you book for the open mic only and would like to hop on the mic, names will be popped into a (cosy) hat and be pulled at random as timing allows.
*The Studio is a private creative space within The Union Theatre building. The Union Theatre bar area is public and will be open from 6pm to 11pm with a show on in the theatre space 7-9.30pm, which means that all our festivities need to be kept within the studio. Please feel free to order your drinks at the bar and bring to the studio space where much festive fun can be had!
*Please note we will not be able to play backing tracks for our ‘cosy mics’. We have a fabulous pianist to accompany you, in Sam (check them out on insta at @sampianistimproviser)
