💃 Meet your host, Laura
Our Thursday nights are hosted by Laura. Laura started dancing at 5 and found her love of partner dancing at 13. She dances Bachata, Salsa, Rueda, Zouk and Tango Argentino, and she challenges heteronormative roles in Latino dance culture, teaching all styling to all dancers, whichever role they dance.
💃 Upstairs: Sanura Dance
Get ready to move, connect, and express yourself through Salsa and Bachata!
Sanura Dance, the FLINTA-focused, feminist and LGBTQIA+ dance community, brings its signature inclusive workshops to The Castle’s stunning upper floor.
Choose Beginner or Improver, or take both classes. Everyone learns both to lead and follow, because empowerment is at the heart of what we do. Whether you come solo, with friends, or as a couple, expect laughter, rhythm, and a shared sense of freedom.
The classes alternate between Salsa and Bachata each month, and now and then we may bring in something different. Check out our Instagram @sanuradance for regular updates and what the Improver class will focus on.

6:30 PM Doors open
6:55 – 7:50 PM Beginner class (55 min)
7:50 – 8:05 PM Bar break
8:05 – 9:00 PM Improver class (55 min)
9:00 – 11:00 PM Salsa & Bachata social, every month
After 9:00 PM, the Salsa and Bachata social kicks off and everyone is welcome on the dance floor, whether you’ve been learning upstairs or chatting downstairs. Practise, play, and enjoy the music.
🥂 Downstairs: LBTQWomen Mingle
From 7:00 PM, the LBTQWomen hosts will be downstairs ready to welcome you for a chill evening of chats, laughs, and new connections. The back space of the pub is all yours if you’re in a chatty mood (and yes, drinks are on the menu 🍸). Pay What You Can.
LBTQWomen is a platform amplifying the femme side of the LGBTQ+ community, creating spaces for connection and belonging.

🏰 The Castle, Aldgate
A welcoming gem in East London, The Castle is an independent pub known for its friendly staff, good food, and brilliant two-floor layout. The upstairs event room, with its high ceilings, dance-friendly floors, and natural light, feels like a mini ballroom: intimate yet vibrant. Downstairs, the buzzing bar and back room set the perfect scene for conversation and connection.
Just a few minutes from Aldgate East Station, it’s easy to reach and hard to leave.

Sanura Dance – A FLINTA-focused, feminist and LGBTQIA+ dance school offering inclusive Salsa and Bachata workshops where everyone leads and follows. Founded in 2023, Sanura celebrates empowerment, connection, and community through movement.
LBTQWomen – An international platform connecting queer women and non-binary people through events, storytelling, and digital spaces. Together, we create safe, beautiful moments that celebrate visibility, joy, and love.
