TRANSMISSIONS PRESENTS: In My Skin
Marina de Van's fearless portrait of self-mutilation as self-discovery comes to our basement screen from a new restoration.
In My Skin (2002) follows a woman whose respectable position in corporate society is threatened when an injury opens the door to an all-consuming fascination with her own flesh.
A distinctly feminist vision of autonomy, depersonalisation, and intimacy with the self, de Van's cinema is a rare triumph that will reward daring viewers.
