We know the LGBTQ+ community is a creative powerhouse, and while we all love drag, it’s time to lift the curtain and provide some space for a wider variety of sparkling talent.
Hosted by polymath entertainer Alex Green, who also campaigned for over ten years to save the Black Cap, for this inaugural showcase featuring LGBTQ+ and ally writers and performers testing out brand-new material.
Come along after your Sunday lunch and catch an exciting mix of original songs, comedy, theatre snippets, burlesque, magic, and more. You might just witness the birth of the next big show or comedy career!
Remember the warm glow of Sunday afternoons at the Black Cap. Sunday lunch done, or the taxi from Trade endured. Settling in for some classic old school entertainment, a little recharge before the final Sunday night push to finally end the weekend.
Well come along on Sunday 8th November, doors at 2.30pm show at 3pm, as we kick-start that Sunday afternoon at the Cap feeling again, but with a fresh 2026 twist.
The Black Cap has a long tradition of making space for new performers – and in its newly restored form has continued, alongside established drag performers, to champion new drag entertainers through its programming.
Come be entertained and support grassroots LGBTQ+ creativity!
It is free entry to the Lily Bar and showcase but there will be a no pressure ‘give what you can’ talent pot - plus a cheeky raffle – all proceeds raised will be shared with the artists.
