The Cinema of Tomorrow presents an all-day film festival in which 3 people/collectives will screen films in public for the 1st time on the Cinema Museum big screen, and the audience gets 3 shows for the price of 1!! This is the grand finale of Programmers of Tomorrow: A Season of Workshops and Screenings for the Future of Film Exhibition aka PoT.
Watching movies together is a powerful ritual for community building, consciousness-raising, fundraising and, of course, good times. We hope that PoT will demystify some of the obscure processes of screening films in public and encourage more people to share the films they love and believe in!
You do not need to have attended PoT workshops to submit your idea. You just need to be over 18, and at least one person in your collective needs to have never programmed a film in public before. We will cover the cost of film licenses (limits apply) and provide you with support to turn learnings into action.
The submissions form is open until Sun October 25th.
Schedule
Once the 3 Programmers of Tomorrow have been selected, we will announce the screening schedule for the day - watch this space.
Food
Empanadas (veg & meaty) and pot noodles with a selection of seasoning options will be available. The museum also has a licensed bar, soft drinks and snacks.
Fundraiser
This event is a fundraiser for both Programmers of Tomorrow and its venue, the Cinema Museum in Kennington. The museum is currently raising money to buy its amazing building and cement its place as the living archive of London's cinema history.
Access
There is one step to get into the museum, and a lift to get into the screening hall.
Accessible and all gender toilets available. Carers free, service dogs welcome.
No one turned away for lack of funds (NOTAFLOF). Please email us for a discounted or free ticket.
