It's cold outside, but its cosy here. Paint a bauble. Sip a pint. Meet your people. 🎨🍻 🎄
Join us for a festive evening of bauble painting in a cosy pub, with all the materials provided. Whether you’re a creative queer, a sporty lesbian, or a spreadheets sapphic: all abilities are welcome, you’ll fit right in. It’s less about your painting skills and more about meeting new people queer mates or potential dates before we finish up the year.
Then, when the paintbrushes are down, the pub social begins: drinks at the bar, card games and seating switch-ups, so you have plenty of chances to chat with everyone there.
What to expect at this festive Sip and Paint Social:
- Cosy and welcoming. A snug pub with our own private area, so you can actually hear each other talk.
- All abilities welcome. Creative, crafty, or just want to give it a try. Everyone’s welcome. No skills or experience needed.There’s no right or wrong way to paint a bauble. It’s a fun, low-pressure way to chat and meet new faces.
- Materials provided. Baubles, paints and materials are all sorted for you, simply come along for 7pm.
- A pub social afterwards. Once the painting’s done, the mixer begins. Grab a drink at the bar (alcoholic and non-alc both available), conversation starters, card games and seating-mix ups will be happening.
- Come solo or bring a mate (or a date!). Loads of people come on their own, so you won’t be the only one. Great for newcomers and regulars, too. Either way, there will be plenty of people keen to get to know you.
- Inclusive, FLINTA+ focused. Designed for queer (lesbian, intersex, non-binary, trans+) people to connect. Allies are welcome too, as long as inclusivity and safety stay a priority.
- Leave with something lovely. You’ll go home with one or two hand-painted baubles for the tree 🎅, a head full of good chat and maybe a few new phone numbers, too!
What’s LSW all about?
I’m Hannah, the organiser of LSW events. When I moved to London in 2022, I quickly learned that making queer friends here can mean a lot of travelling east. After one too many hour-long journeys, I looked out my window in Tooting, saw queers everywhere, and thought: why not start my own?
The first social was an accidental big lesbian pub garden takeover, and it was brilliant. Some of my closest friends came from that day, and the community has been growing ever since. Since 2023, our events have led to friendships, dates, hook-ups, sports teams, craft groups, bandmates and more.
London can be loud and busy, and the queer scene can feel intimidating. LSW is the antidote: all about community, connection and conversation. We pick cosy venues and relaxed events so you can meet people south of the river, without the long trek or the big bill.
So come and join us for a good old paint and a chat, where the connections might just change your social or dating life. 🧡
