Our November Challenge hike for queer folks of colour and queer migrants will be the Otford Circular, within the Kent Downs AONB!
This is a short, sharp 8-mile hike, that takes in part of the North Downs Way and Romney Street, and is set within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, alongside the villages of Shoreham and Otford, both of which contain some ancient and medieval ruins, and a handful of lovely tea rooms. While the paths are pretty easygoing, they can get very muddy, so get ready for a messy challenge!
We've given the difficulty of this hike a rating of Three Boots, because while it is shorter and has less ascent than our other challenge hikes, the trails can be harder to work through if it's raining and muddy, and we'll be chasing the daylight with an earlier sunset. If you're uncertain about if this hike is for you, please feel free to message us on here for more information!

About Queer Routes:
We’re a group of queer migrants and queer folks of colour who’ve gotten together to bring you Queer Routes, a brand new group offering small-group hikes for QTIPoC and queer migrants based in or around London.
Our hikes are all about building community, meeting new people, learning from each other, and connecting with the land around us. With smaller groups, we’re aiming to give you the chance to have deeper conversations, and to create lasting and more meaningful connections.
