A botanical drawing session hosted on Zoom with a focus on queerness and finding inspiration in nature.
All skill levels welcome. A Zoom link will be shared to join the event.
- All participants need is a stable internet connection, a few sheets of paper, and pencil/pen, or whatever media they would like to express themselves.
- The session is 1 hour and 30 minutes long.
- There will be a short intro on botanical drawing and finding inspiration in nature.
- Participants are encouraged to find their own house plants, fruits or vegetables in their homes, or pick some flowers or leaves from outside. Having the actual plants in front of you is best.
- There will also be images of plants provided for anyone who needs it.
- A warm-up with some brief exercises.
- A longer session to draw/paint/write about the plant you are focusing on.
- We will then share our work and see what others have done.
- If anyone would like to say anything about their work they can, but are not obligated.
