How can the pioneering activism and community organising of LGBTQI+ people in the 1970s inform how we work together today?
Join members of UK Black Pride, LGSMigrants, Opening Doors and The Outside Project for a discussion on what makes a community, a family and a home. Chaired by activist and former squatter Julian Hows, this event is a platform for peers, friends and the newly acquainted to come together to explore lessons on community action held within our collective queer history.
Contributors: Eliel Jones and Seb Aguirre from LGSMigrants; Evelyn Pittman from Opening Doors; Carla Ecola from The Outside Project; and Stacy Martin from UK Black Pride. Organised by Jane Wells.
This event is part of the Communal Curriculum for On Railton Road, a play by Ian Giles exploring queer communal living in Brixton since the 1970s. More information at onrailtonroad.co.uk.
