Dreams in Blue: Soundbath in blue light.
Allow the colour blue to take you on a journey.
The painting pictured is by visual artist Khadija Choudhury based in Bristol, UK. She entered into a process with the colour blue, allowing sensations, movements and textures to arise in dialogue with the present moment. Embodying the process through her creative practice, and giving a form to our intention for the event.
Khadija Choudhury on her process :
“Through movement, each composition explores a visual perspective of these aspects. Within these intimate moments I am being playful, I am open to mistakes, alluding to a place of feeling loss and love.
Humorous qualities are portrayed in gestural mark making and shapes. These factors are important, as the purpose is to conflict between opposing themes, from colour and form to contextual ideologies.
The use of colour develops my sense and appreciation of space, switching background and foreground to conflict tone. The use of opposites makes it uncomfortable, uneasy to the eye. Yet, the use of viscous vertical directions restores stability and animation.
This lingering intrudes in many areas, instilling chaos and a sense of overbearing. However, there remains a sense of stillness in these paintings that aim to grasp those fragile moments of joy and contentment.”
