Join us on Zoom for a ray of hope on the last night of Chanukah. Bring donuts (anything fried will do), candles (nine is good) and memories of proud queer-defiance in an unnecessarily binary world. Share stories, songs, art, poetry or just sit back and admire the donuts and bask in the glow as we let our little lights shine. Let’s be together to nourish our strength and feed our courage as we snuggle into the longer nights and colder days. Open to all.
Chanuka (or chaneke, hannukkah, chanukka, hanake, hanukkah, the o.g. Fyre Festival: the naming possibilities are endless) is the Jewish festival of light that takes place over eight nights in November/December each year. It commemorates an impossible victory when the little people banded together against tyranny, and a miracle that kept the lamp burning despite issues with the supply chain. As queer people we know all about facing tyrrany and the power of community. And candles are definitely just old school glitter.
