BiCamp is back! BiCamp 2022 will be June 2nd-5th. We are really excited about BiCamp #4 and hope to see you all there.
BiCamp is set in Kinver Scout Camp, a gorgeous woodland site with a total of 23 acres to roam in.
BiCamp UK is run by Brum Bi Group, a social group aimed at connecting members of the bi community in Birmingham and the Midlands. It is a group where bi people can come together in a safe and friendly environment and welcomes those who may be questioning how they identify themselves.
We got the idea from the LNBi, the Dutch National Network for Bisexuals and wanted to hold our own BiCamp. This was done in 2018 and developed even more in 2019.
Bisexual people in UK often feel isolated within their LGBT+ communities and we would like to offer a place for them to feel able to be themselves, meet new people and find friends around the UK and beyond.
Activities available will include: Archery, Bat Watch, Arts and Crafts - Facilitated Workshops and Skills Sharing, Boardgames, Bushcraft, Stick Whittling, Woodland Walks, Campfire Activities, Storytelling, Yoga, Massage, Meditation, Wildlife Observation and many more
All BiCamp activities are run with the primary aim of inclusiveness and welcoming all members of the bi community and their partners/allies. We do not have age limits on our activities and we deliberately host a number of day and non-alcoholic events, making them suitable for older community members who are not comfortable on 'the scene' and want to get to know the group in a relaxed and informal setting.
We have continued to include cabin accommodation which will be allocated based on need so will be suitable for older people, and people with disabilities. We also will be asking attendees to pay based on a sliding scale, meaning that financial circumstances, background, as well as health needs should not prevent older Bi people from coming to this event.
Parents and guardians are responsible for taking care of their children, especially around the campfire.
This year we are going to again host an 18+ only area.
It's important to note that Kinver is home to lots of different kinds of wildlife. Please respect plants, trees and animals. Please do not pick flowers on site.
Dogs are allowed, as long as they are polite, and well-looked after. Letting dogs roaming free around the site is okay only if they are well-behaved and trained.
Travel information will be issued closer to the time however we will be providing transfer transportation to and from Birmingham New St. We are also offering pickups from Stourbridge and Stourbridge Junction Train Stations which are both closer to site. We encourage those who are able bodied or comfortable with train travel to head to Stourbridge rather than Birmingham New St. Accessible travel options are available from all three stations.
Once you arrive at site, the check-in desk is located next to the car park.
Merchandise will be on sale at BiCamp in the Market Space. All proceeds will help cover future events run by BiCamp and/or Brum Bi Group.
FOOD OPTIONS
This year BiCamp will either be SEMI-CATERED or SELF-CATERED.
Default option: SEMI-CATERED. Two meals will be served each day, breakfast and dinner. These meals will be vegetarian and vegan. Please do make provisions for yourself for lunch and snacks during the day. You are allowed to bring meat onto site however, and can use the designated kitchens for meat prep! We provide gluten free options for all catered meals and will endeavor to look after anyone with food allergies or intolerances. Please inform the BiCamp Team of your food preferences as soon as possible.
SELF-CATERED Option: if you wish to opt out from the regular semi-catered service, you may to do so. In this case, no meals will be provided for you at all. You will have to make provisions for all of your meals. Please bring food for yourself for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks during the day. Where possible, please treat this as a camping experience in terms of food storage, and organize your own (i.e. cooling boxes or similar) as fridge space is limited; if transporting storage containers would be difficult for you because you’re coming on public transport, please do let us know and we can look at food storage options for you on site.
If you would like to purchase a fully self-catered ticket (no food at all will be provided by BiCamp for you) please use the following discount codes at checkout:
- 9OFF for the whole weekend tickets (£9 discount).
- 6OFF for Friday to Sunday tickets (£6 discount).
- 3OFF for one night tickets (£3 discount).
The discounts for the self-catered options were calculated taking into account our expenses going towards food. These mainly consist of groceries, and a few other expenses such as kitchen cleaning supplies, transport costs for grocery runs, and such. We are able to keep costs down because we buy in bulk and because we cater vegetarian/vegan dishes. The majority of your ticket cost goes towards site hire, transport costs, equipment, covering volunteer expenses,….and glitter ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Camping stoves and cookers are permitted, however they should be for personal use only and you are responsible for your own health and safety when using one.
Always remember to cook food away from your tent.
There will be campfires each night and supplied treats for cooking on the fire (baked potatoes, veggie sausages etc) for catered ticket guests. Please feel free to bring your own food items to cook.
What's new for 2022?

ACCESS & COVID
We are continuing to improve accessibility year over year and we always work with the venue to ensure as many areas as possible are wheelchair accessible. For example, over the years the venue has installed several access ramps to allow more movements for wheelchairs. After you purchase your ticket, your booking confirmatio will contain a link to our access form, so you can tell us in details about your accessibility requirements. However it is important to bear in mind that this is a camping site that:
-was not originally planned for individuals with alternative needs, and we are limited by the original building design;
-also extends on partially hilly, uneven terrain that is not all smooth due to the nature of being a woodland.
Here at BiCamp, we are passionate about access. The overwhelming majority of the organizers are either disabled and/or neurodivergent. We will go out of our way to accommodate your access needs. If we are limited in the adaptations we can provide for you, it is either because of factors dependent on the venue -hence out of our control- or because we don’t have the manpower or resources (we are all volunteers!).
A Covid Mitigation Plan will be prepared in accordance with the most recent government directives. As these keep evolving, we won’t know until closer to the event which guidelines the event will need to follow. For BiCamp 2021 we required lateral flow tests to be taken before travel, and this approach was a successful one which we may choose to utilize again. We will communicate our final Covid plan to attendees as the event approaches. Whatever happens, we will encourage outdoor socializing as much as possible. It is camping after all :-)
If paying all in one go would prevent you from being able to buy a ticket please talk to us and we can arrange alternative methods of purchase to allow you to send partial payments until the ticket is fully paid. You can email bicampuk@gmail.com to discuss this. We want to enable anyone who wants to come to BiCamp to be there, so please reach out if this option is needed.
BiCamp is free for children but a suggested donation of £5 if you are able would be greatly appreciated.
🌈🌈🌈 We can't wait to see you there! 💖💜💙
