L'amour Le Monde was a bright, colourful, inspiring individual who emitted light and joy onto the cabaret scene in the UK. Sadly we lost L'amour to COVID very suddenly last year.
We've gathered together a lineup of just a few people who L'amour touched in her life to put on a fabulous fun show, celebrating life in the way that we know she would love.
There'll be a raffle and even some exclusive L'amour merch on sale at the event - all raising funds for charity.
The show will be co-hosted by Flick and Carrot, and feature performances from L'amour's drag families United Shapes of Drag and Hot Haus Drag UK. Alongside those, we'll have appearances from friends who loved working with her - including Paulus, Laura Nadia Hunt, Semi Colon and Lady Blue Phoenix.
DRESS CODE
It was L'amour's wish to have a “yellow orange fun show” in her honour - so we'd love to invite everyone to wear something yellow or orange (even if it's just a small badge or a scarf) so we can fill the RVT with bright colours in her memory.
TICKETS
Tickets for this event are pretty much on a pay what you can/want basis. We've set a few as suggestions - but there is also a section where you can decide what to pay. All acts will be getting a small fee to cover their expenses for this show, but any and all profits will go to Harefield Transplant Hospital who did such a great job supporting L'amour through her surgeries.
SCHEDULE
Doors open: 6pm
Show starts: Approx. 7pm
Show ends: Approx. 9pm (with one interval)
We are followed immediately by the RVT's Friday club night, so we'll need you all to head out straight after the show finishes. We'll be looking for a venue in which we can hang out and chat after the show nearby - once we find somewhere we'll send out an email with details.
ACCESS INFO
Royal Vauxhall Tavern has gender neutral toilets, is wheelchair accessible and has no steps to get into the venue - however, the toilets are not wheelchair accessible. This show will contain flashing lights and loud music. Free +1 tickets are available for carers, and audio description can be made available if we are made aware in advance. If you require any of these or if there is anything else we can do to make this event more accessible to you, please email carrotdrag@gmail.com.
The show will be filmed and an online screening will happen in the weeks following the show for those who do not feel comfortable attending in person.
This show is running a NOTAFLOF (not turned away from lack of funds) scheme. If you want to attend this event but are struggling to pay, please email carrotdrag@gmail.com with the subject line 'NOTAFLOF' and we will sort something for you - no questions asked or explanations needed.
Please note RVT is a safe space for all LGBTQ+ people and allies - come as you are, and you will be celebrated. However, transphobia, homophobia, racism, misogyny or any other form of hate speech will not be tolerated under any circumstances - and we reserve the right to ask disrespectful audience members to leave without refund. All performers will use they/them pronouns.
