A 3 hour workshop exploring burlesque, choreography and performance skills taught by award-winning, international cabaret star Tom Harlow (Miss Burlesque Scotland 2019, Amsterdam King of Boylesque 2016)

This workshop is open to all genders, bodies, identities & levels of experience (must be age 18+)
About The Workshop: In the first hour we will focus on looking at techniques used in burlesque such as isolated movements, walking, posing, bump & grind technique and floorwork . You will also learn how to hit flattering angles for the stage and in photos. In the second half we will be using the techniques we have just previously learnt in a choreographed routine which will also include basic boa techniques and some simple chair work too.
What to wear/bring?
* Comfortable clothing that you can easily move in
* Heels that you feel comfortable to walk and perform in
* Spare bra or a spare shirt and tie
* Fabric / feather boa or a large scarf
* Bottle of water
No actual stripping or removal of clothes will take place during the class except the removal of the shirt/spare bra which will be worn over your clothing. Please feel free to bring along any props or costume pieces you may want help with.
About Tom Harlow: Tom Harlow is an award-winning showboy, singer and MC based in Glasgow, Scotland. Tom has nearly 12 years experience performing on the cabaret and burlesque scene both in the UK & internationally. He has performed on stages in London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam Reykjavik and New York, delighting audiences with his male twist on the burlesque bump & grind or his unique vocal blend of showtunes & FILTH! Tom has been featured on the BBC, showcased in the Burrel Collection Museum in Glasgow and is the reigning Miss Burlesque Scotland. Before the sparkles of showbiz grabbed him, Tom trained in dance, musical theatre and physical theatre. He teaches regularly at a local theatre group and the Glasgow School of Burlesque.
