Celebrate Pride month with MUBI, Queer House Party and Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest! at Colours Hoxton.
We’re hosting a dress-up screening of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s QUERELLE, a cult classic evoking the world of cruising through a handsome sailor’s sexual and criminal pursuits in a port town’s seamy underworld.
Category is: Naughty Nautical.
We want to see sailor-wear, aquamarine creatures, fishy queens, butch babes on boats, maritime magic... and we’ll be giving out prizes for the best dressed!
After the screening, join us for the afterparty, with DJs and performances curated by Queer House Party and Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest, celebrating unapologetic queer joy.
Doors will open at 7pm to start promptly at 7:30pm, with Afterparty kicking off from 9:45pm. Tickets are available for the Screening and Party, or just the Afterparty, so please make sure you book correctly
Our host for the screening will be none other than Miss Taylor Trash. The UK's ONLY Southern Belle-end and occasional cockney cowgirl, hailing all the way from the Deep South of Tottenham, she will be serving us up a nice ol' slice of nautical camp with big hair and an even bigger smile!
At the Afterparty we have an amazing line up of performers who will keep the night Naughty and Nautical;
Carrot (they/them) is the UK's premiere premium organic drag vegetable. They are highly rich in all the vitamin A and D you could possibly need and will help you see better in the dark room with their chaotic stage presence and vocals. They host, perform in and produce camp queer shows across the country, most notably working with the creme-de-la-thems of non-binary talent in The Enby Show.
Sigi Moonlight (they/he) is a longstanding member of The Bitten Peach and freshest recruit to the PECS Drag Collective, Sigi Moonlight has performed all over from clowning around at Glastonbury to bringing inflatable penis fights to Shakespeare’s Globe. They are known for mixing suave sophisticated boylesque with clowning and politics so outrageous that they were once banned from performing in Canada.
All attendees to the screening will receive an ice cream sandwich from Happy Endings, on the house!
100% of proceeds will go to Fringe! Queer Arts & Film Fest, a community-led organisation championing LGBTQIA+ events. If you wish to attend but are unable to afford a ticket, please reach out to us and we will endeavor to help: queerhouseparty@gmail.com
