The event launches on Saturday 18th June, 7:00pm - 12:00am.
Counter Culture is a monthly event that invites musicians, poets, and sound and spoken word artists to share. As well as wonderful live performances - The bar promotes a relaxing social space, perfect for enjoying our irresistible drinks menu filled with delicious handmade cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks made with fresh, seasonal produce, and thoughtfully-sourced craft beers.
Our first event kicks off with:
Remi Martin - Musician (Live Performance)
Remi Martin. is an up-and-coming performer, singer-songwriter, host, and producer based in South-East London. Emerging from musical mixtures of Gospel, Hip-Hop, Soul & Pop, Martin also hosts both in-house & Radio music shows on a monthly basis in Hackney & Peckham, honing his talents. Since graduating from Goldsmiths, the University of London, Martin’s advocacy towards protecting cultural space in Peckham, has claimed space within The Rising Sun Art Collective. Recently featured in music publications; Dummy, Farout, Gal-dem, Crack, and Mix Magazine… Recent performances with Sofarsounds, Martin’s other performances have received sponsorship from; BBC Radio 6, Lewisham Council, and Art Council England. Martin plans to debut again in 2022 under the social media alias, ‘RoadmanPrincess’. Following suit from ‘2021’s ‘love me fairly’ release.

Ijeoma Uzoukwu - Artist (Spoken Word)
Ijeoma Uzoukwu is a non-binary, London-based Nigerian artist, who makes space for collective introspection through performance, moving image, and sound. Their multifaceted practice channels personal and speculative contributions to esoteric ontologies, and to the ancestral Ọdịnanị database of their Igbo heritage.
