RED LIFE DRAWING AT THE COMMON CAFE ❤️🔥
Never been to art school and wish you had? Been to art school and miss the vibe?
Separate from our classes at the Omnibus Theatre we are now introducing our new Art School life drawing classes for a more in depth life drawing practice.
For the 31st August we have partnered with Lucid London to start running occasional no alcohol sessions. Please note that our 31st August is going to be a no alcohol session.
Life drawing sessions are normally enjoyed with a few drinks and this can be incredibly uncomfortable for those who choose not to drink. We would like to change that to make life drawing accessible to everyone and providing solidarity with our sober allies.
Also to everyone messaging asking for more dates for this class, we are in the process of booking this in for fortnightly Wednesdays from September! Follow us on the OutSavvy app for updates on the class or follow us over instagram @redlifedrawing ❤️
How do these sessions differ from our regular classes?
Our Art School class is comprised of longer poses and intended to imitate the feel of an art school environment.
The poses in this session will range from 10 minutes to 40 minutes with a quick 5 minute warm up pose, compared to our other class at the Omnibus Theatre where the poses range from 2- 10 minutes.
On top of this, these sessions are intended for intermediate and advanced artists whereas our classes at the Omnibus Theatre are suitable for all abilities.
If you are interested in attending our session at the Omnibus Theatre instead, please click here to view the event information.
Materials are provided, these are an A3 canvas board with as much paper as you need. We also provide charcoals, soft pastels, graded graphite pencils, colouring pencils and even elastic bands so that you are able to roll up your drawings and take them home with you!
We also encourage everyone to bring any extra materials that you would like to use.
Who are we? Red life drawing is a small, independent business run by a group of socialist artists.
We host a different model each session, head over to our instagram page (@redlifedrawing) to see which model we are hosting this week!
We also support a small local charity called Sound Minds who provide art therapy for those suffering with mental health difficulties. Every ticket you buy contributes towards free tickets for the beneficiaries of Sound Minds.
We provide block reservations for groups, in order to secure this please email redlifedrawing@gmail.com with your name, group size and booking reference to reserve a block of chairs together
