About ELSC Productions CIC

East London Strippers Collective (ELSC Productions CIC) supports and promotes self-organisation among strippers and sex workers; challenging stigma, standing up to exploitation, fighting for improved safety and harm-reduction in the wider sex industry.

 

Sex workers are some of the most marginalised and vulnerable people in society. This is largely due to social stigma and misogyny, poor working conditions and harmful legislation, negative media representation, and misguided campaigns to “save” sex workers by further criminalising their workplaces and/or clients. The founding members of ELSC were all united around a shared set of workplace grievances and a mutual desire to see their safety, dignity and employment rights established, enabling them to build collective power and autonomy.

 

ELSC achieves this mission through self-organisation; by creating our own working conditions, we explore our position as sex workers within the wider cultural landscape through artistic mediums such as life drawing, visual arts, dance, performance and writing.
