Poetry for Palestine is a series of poetry fundraisers with the focus of fundraising for Palestinian families and creating space for community, solidarity, and resistance. All proceeds go towards Reem, a mother who is trying to raise her new child in Gaza.
The main aspect of the event is the poetry performances. We bring in accomplished poets from all over London to perform, providing the platform to speak on the Palestinian struggle, alongside their own experiences of diaspora, liberation, and political action. We also run a book sale in tandem with the event, enabled by generous donations from queer and radical bookshops across London.
All proceeds from the book sale go towards our fundraising efforts. Ultimately, Poetry for Palestine works as both a fundraiser for an urgent cause, and a space for the community to come together, rest, and reflect on what there is yet to be done.
