Safflicks brings sapphic films and audiences together through curated festivals, screenings, partnerships and year-round community events.
Our roots in sapphic film exhibition stretch back more than a decade, including the cinema programme at LFEST, curated by Naomi Bennett from 2016, its continuation through Lesflicks and extensive virtual festival and event programming during 2020 and 2021. Following the end of LFEST in 2022, Safflicks became the dedicated home for this festival and exhibition work.
Today we run three annual festivals around LGBT+ History Month, Pride Month and key sapphic dates in October, alongside community and corporate screenings and the virtual Safflicks Sapphic Film Club. Our approach goes beyond selecting films: wherever possible, we connect stories with relevant organisations and audiences, creating screenings, conversations and opportunities around them.
As part of a wider ecosystem alongside Lesflicks and SapphicIFF, Safflicks focuses on curation, exhibition and audience connection, helping independent sapphic films reach the people most likely to discover, discuss and champion them.
