SET Ceramics is a contemporary community pottery studio in central London, run by arts organisation and registered charity SET. Tucked away inside a beautifully converted former cobbler’s shop near Fenchurch Street Station, we are the only dedicated ceramics studio in the Square Mile, functioning as both an independent working space for members and an artist-led learning environment for the public.
Alongside affordable studio space for practicing and early-career makers, we offer public courses, kiln hire, workshops, and team sessions led entirely by working ceramic artists. True to SET's charitable mission of keeping creative culture genuinely accessible, our spaces, memberships, and courses are kept as affordable as possible. Each programme is uniquely shaped by the tutor’s own practice, giving participants a rare insight into real studio approaches rather than standardised pottery classes.
To ensure a high level of individual attention, guidance, and creative development, sessions are kept intentionally small (typically 4 to 6 people). With pottery wheels, hand-building stations, glazing facilities, and kiln firing all included, our emphasis is on meaningful making and building true confidence with clay. SET Ceramics welcomes beginners, independent makers, and artists looking to work within a supportive and creative studio community.
To keep our studio as accessible and inclusive, course discounts apply for SET Studio Members and residents of the City of London.
