The Hide is an artist-led initiative in the Cotswolds, supporting creatives through residencies, retreats, exhibitions, events and mentoring.
All creatives welcome - Including: visual artists, painters, sculptors, illustrators, designers, photographers, filmmakers, screen and playwrights, novelists, musicians, performance artists, dancers and choreographers, curators and creative thinkers.
The Hide offers dedicated residency spaces for solo creatives, rural accommodation for those wishing to retreat in style. Its a unique place to stay, work and relax,
Designed to match our philosophy, The Hide gives you the chance to absorb both the natural environment and a creative atmosphere in perfect balance, to be rejuvenated and inspired without the distraction and pressures of daily life.
Accommodation and working spaces are in our Live/Work Studio, a fully contained, one-level living space, The Suite within the family home and The Hut, deep in nature in the garden.
Parking/Access/Transport:
Free access parking on gravel drive for two cars, booking by email ahead essential.
Please note there are 5 steps down to the property and one doorstep, property on one level inside.
Parking for all other cars in bay on common, 5 minutes’ walk away.
Trains to Stroud station and taxi.

Alice Sheppard Fidler is the founder and director of The Hide artist retreat and a practicing fine artist working in installation, sculpture, and performance.
Alice exhibits nationally and internationally and teaches at numerous institutions in the UK.
She received distinction for her MA in Fine Art, and 1st Class Hons for her BA in Textile Design from which she went on to work as a set designer for the film and television industry for 18 years.
