About the Oxfordshire Drag Collective
Oxfordshire Drag Collective (ODC), produced by Scarlett Von Kok and Cairo Iman Ali, is a dynamic queer performance collective based in Oxfordshire, committed to pushing boundaries, celebrating diversity, and creating spaces where drag art thrives.
Since its origins in 2018, ODC has become known for its bold, eclectic shows and community-led events. As they describe themselves, ODC was created “to provide a space for local performers to experiment, push boundaries, and deliver brand new, off-the-wall material.” Daily Info
Under the creative leadership of Scarlett Von Kok and Cairo Iman Ali, ODC produce a wide range of queer events — from monthly drag bingo and cabaret showcases to full-scale Pride performances across Oxfordshire. They regularly bring their work to stages such as the Old Fire Station, Botley, Witney, Chipping Norton, and Oxford Pride.
One of ODC’s signature productions is SPUDS (Strange People Undertake a Drag Show), a cabaret-style variety show that features established performers and rising talent alike. In SPUDS, “anything goes” – lip-sync, poetry, burlesque, stand-up — all in one eclectic, inclusive package.
ODC’s mission is rooted in inclusion. They are proud to be “quirky and eclectic,” welcoming performers and audience members of all genders, sexualities, identities, races, religions, body types, and experiences. Their performance spaces are safe zones: ODC holds that discrimination — whether based on race, gender, body size, sexual preference, ability, or other identity — has no place in their community.
