About The Village Idiot

The Village Idiot is a brand new comedy night run by country-bumpkin father-son duo Steve and Ethan who have been based in the Buckinghamshire countryside since 2006. Ethan moved to London 4 years ago to pursue a career but occasionally shows his face back homewhen pub trips and free pints are on offer. During one of those pub trips, Steve complained how little nightlife there was in rural Buckinghamshire. After pointing out that he goes to bed at 9pm and wouldn't even know if there was a nightlife, the idea of The Village Idiot was born.

Steve is a social entrepreneur who has always wanted to run a pub but Ethan's mum won't let him. He spends his evenings telling her how good his pub would be.

Ethan is a comedy producer working for the BBC Comedy commissioning team. He spends his evenings hiding in the backs of comedy clubs, trying not to get picked on.
