Fast Fashion returns with very special guest Princess Julia!
This party is a celebration of all the fantastic electronic, synth-based music of the 80s-present day. From fun light Italo disco beats and chart topping synth-pop classics to seething, brooding dark gothy end of the spectrum. Original tracks, Edits, remixes and covers all on the table. Expect Depeche Mode, Soft Cell, Kraftwerk, Grace Jones, Yazoo, Gary Numan, Throbbing Gristle, Bauhaus, Bowie, Euthmics, Patrick Cowley, Giorgio Moroder.. and everything in-between and either side.
Princess Julia
Queen of fashion, East London queer and style icon, DJ, writer, so much of our club scene was influenced by her. Margate Arts Club is super excited to welcome Princess Julia to the decks for a very special night of music from 80's to present day.
Princess Julia first came to notice in the early 1980s as part of the Blitz Kids club scene with the likes of Boy George. She achieved success and clubland renown after her appearance and vocals on "Fade to Grey", by band Visage.
After a stint as a fashion model in the early to mid-1980s, both in London and Tokyo, she started to build a successful career as a club DJ. She was a resident DJ at the Kinky Gerlinky club nights. regualr Dj slots at Dalston superstore, sink the pink, vogue fabrics, the glory, Boombox, to name just a few....
Princess Julia has collaborated with Kylie Minogue, Shakespear's Sisters, Siobhan Fahey on two songs, "Bad Blood" and "Pulsatron" which Julia remixed as well as No Bra, Readers Wifes', Punx Souncheck,Larry Tee, Kinky Roland and Riton
We are very excited to have clubland royalty paying us a visit.
