A Press of Suspects {presents} have teamed up with Plymouth Argyle FC, Ginsters and the Argyle Community Trust. We are thrilled to announce a Comedy Event at the glorious Home Park stadium with ALL money going to Project 35.
Project 35 is a landmark social action initiative aimed at reducing poverty in Plymouth, through a comprehensive campaign of fund-raising, awareness raising, social outreach, food donations, education, and charity support.
The Project's titular number, 35, represents the percentage of children in Plymouth reported to be living in poverty in some wards of our city, according to the most recent (2019) pre-pandemic data.
It is an honour to be able to give something back to the city.
Performing on the night will be:
David Arnold: A Welsh man by birth but Plymouth based for 10 years (married a Janner), David is a regular on the comedy circuit, mixing mainstream and alternative material with aplomb! A warm and engaging presence, David has recently won through to the finals of British Comedian of the year! An absolute treat of a man. www.welshdavecomedy.com
Edward Tripp: A stand-up comedy poet, writer and visual artist, living in Devon. Edward has previously brought his unique brand of spoken-word to nights and festivals such as Spork! Poetic Licence and WOMAD. “Strange, surreal and side-splittingly funny” - Razz Magazine. “Dave Allen meets David Lynch” - The Spoils Collective “…he’s been known to cover himself in yeast and wield papier mache effigies of his mum’s head, whilst delivering profound and universal truths…” - Spork!
Suzy Bennet: A born and bred Plymouthian! Former Butlins Redcoat and proud Devonian Suzy ‘accidentally’ won an award on her 6th gig and has kept the laughs, and her accent, going strong ever since, performing around the UK as well as overseas. She is the voice of the ‘Plymouth Trails’ Tour app and was recently named as one of the ‘50 Coolest people from Plymouth’ by the Evening Herald (It was in no particular order so she assumes she came third after Dawn French and Wayne Sleep).
All hosted by:
Willtordian Ballorian Edwardian: The baby of the bunch moved to Plymouth 4 years ago and performed his first ever stand up set in the city. A man with a penchant for owls and a celebration of the absurd silliness of life! Expect chaos, music, prizes and owls....
